The Delta State Chairman, National Union of Road Transportation Workers (NURTW), Comrade Chief Dennis Araro, has congratulated wife of the Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa as she clocked 60 years on June 1. Araro used the medium to commend her for her generic philanthropy and care for the less privileged.
He stated that Dame Okowa’s care for the less privileged had stood her out as an outstanding humanist and a godly woman and mother. He noted that the Delta First Lady has not been distracted by the trappings of office but had chosen, at great personal inconvenience, to ease the burden of the less privileged.
He paid glowing tributes to Dame Okowa, noting that she had devoted a great part of her life and committed much of her time and other personal resources in the selfless pursuit of the total well being of the under privileged .According to him,” Dame Edith Okowa is committed to the welfare of widows and other less privileged women, inmates of correctional centres in the state as well as patients stranded in hospitals on account of inability to offset their hospital bills”.
He prayed God to replenish her stock and grant her longevity in good health for a life of all round fulfilment
