A resident of Boji Boji Metropolis, Mr. Obiazi Boi Obuh, the Managing Director of Obiazi and Sons Newspaper, Agbor, has commended the proactive steps taken by His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, in combating the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus Pandemic during the wake of it’s outbreak in the State.Mr. Obuh, made the commendation recently during a chat with Ika Mirror Newspaper reporter at his office in Agbor. According to him the State was very lucky having Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as the State helmsman during the outbreak of the virus; saying that majority of the citizens across the State were saved from contacting the deadly disease because of the passion and prompt measures put in place by the Governor; through the establishment of isolation centres, training and retraining of medical personnel, the procurement of the necessary equipment and the strict compliance of safety rules and regulations spelt out by the Federal Government and the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) aimed at curbing the spread of the the virus.Continuing, he thanked God for the life, He granted the Governor in celebrating his fifth year as the number one citizen of the State; and for the speedy recovery He granted the Governor, his wife, daughter and some of his political associates from the claws of death after they tested positive to the virus.He also lauded the overwhelming performance of the Governor mostly in the area of road construction and the provision of infrastructural development across the 25 local government areas of the State. Mr. Obiazi Obuh, however, urged His Excellency, the State Governor to create more employment opportunities for the youths before the expiration of his second tenure, by establishing industries in Ika land; noting that Governor Okowa, being the current Delta State Governor, is a great opportunity for the people of Ika extraction to develop their area; warning that if the opportunity slips off them, they may not have it again in several years to come. In the same vein, he also enjoined members of Ika Nation to work in synergy and cooperate with one another in developing Ika Nation to an enviable height.Speaking further, Mr. Obiazi Boi Obuh, also commended the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari; whom he noted is performing creditably in his fight against corruption, most especially with the recent exposure of the fraud rocking the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). He urged Mr. President, to tackle the issue squarely and everyone indicted should be made to face the wrath of the law; “if we must progress as a nation”, he concluded.
