Ekuku-Agbor black out: Our people in government have failed us

– Ken Etunim

Following more than a decade total power outage in Ekuku-Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, a concerned citizen of the Community, Mr Ken Etunim, has said that all political appointees of Ekuku-Agbor extraction in government have failed their people, hence, they should be sacked by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.

He noted that Ekuku-Agbor is a peaceful oil producing and agrarian community yet, has no electricity, good road network, security and basic amenities.

He said, “We are pained and worried that our community and a fast growing town in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, has been without electricity for than a decade and none of our political appointees of Ekuku-Agbor extraction is concerned about it. They paid deaf ears to all our requests to fix the basic infrastructures in Ekuku-Agbor. We formed a WhatsApp group where their names were added but none of them has shown concern or commented on the issue each time it was raised. This is very bad for people who claimed to be representing us in government. We are tired of them, they have failed us and we are telling them to resign and come back home because they are disgrace to us.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa should sack all of them because they have failed woefully in their political engagements. Governor Okowa cannot be everywhere, hence,he appointed our people in his government.”

Speaking further he said, ” Ekuku-Agbor has since inception been giving PDP full support and PDP has never lost election in Ekuku-Agbor,so, Government has no right to treat us badly. If the excuse was because of our sister, Hon Doris Uboh that makes us not to get Government attention in Ekuku-Agbor that is totally bad because we have voted against Hon Doris Uboh’s APC many times. We are therefore asking Government to urgently attend to our electricity and other infrastructural challenges in Ekuku-Agbor, else, we will vote for the opposition in the next election.”
