Donald Peterson commiserates with Nwaonicha over elder sister’s death

President/Founder, D-PETERSON Foundation, Dr Donald Peterson,has commisserated with Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor, on Special Duties, Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha over the death of his elder sister, late Madam Esther Okoh.

Peterson who paid a condolence visit to Nwaonicha at his residence in Agbor during the week urged the American trained Organic Chemist cum politician to take solace in the Lord for his sister lived a good life while on earth.

His words, “On behalf of my family and the entire members of D-PETERSON Foundation, I commisserate with our dear father, brother, friend and the entire Nwaonicha family of Alihame, Agbor, on the demise of their lovely daughter and mother, late Mrs Madam Esther Okoh. We urge you to take solace in the Lord for your sister and mother lived a good life while on earth. We pray God to give you and members of your family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. May her soul rest in peace.”Responding, Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha thanked Donald Peterson for the condolence visit, noting that he will remain grateful to him and members of his Foundation. He disclosed that his late sister, Madam Esther Okoh impacted greatly and positively on the lives of her siblings and people who came around her. He said she would be missed by the legacies she left behind.

Speaking further, Nwaonicha declared his support for Donald Peterson, urging him to remain focused and committed in his contributions to the development of Ika youths and Ika land in general.

“You are very a good man, loving and caring to our people. I am going to support and work with you in any future plan you have to uplift our people in government. I urge to remain focused, committed and don’t be discouraged by detractors. The Almighty God will grant you your heart desires,” Nwaonicha stated.

Dr Donald Peterson was accompanied in the visit by a political aide to the Delta State Governor and Chief of Staff, D-PETERSON Foundation,Hon Andrew Agwaze.

Peterson, Okoh, Onyekpeze, Others Bag ACU Awards Of Excellence

As Dr. Peterson offers to train 40 Abavo youths and 50 teachers on Python programming language,ICT development

The President and Founder of D-Peterson Foundation, Dr. Donald Peterson bagged an excellence award on human capacity building from the Abavo Clan Union (ACU).

The ceremony was held yesterday at the Abavo Civic Center and it was attended by the crème da la crème of the society.Chief Jonathan Agbejiagwe, the President General of Abavo Clan Union while presenting the award to Dr. Donald Peterson, described him as an exceptional personality who is using his Foundation to do tremendous work in the building and development of human capacity.Responding, Dr. Donald Peterson described himself as a true son of Abavo Kingdom and that he is always proud and blessed to be associated with the people of the Kingdom.

On the award, he said “I wish to let you know that I value and cherish this award and since it is based on human capacity building, I want this community to nominate 40 youths that will be trained on Python programming language. More so, they should nominate 50 teachers that will be trained on Information Communication Technology programme. All these training will be at no cost to the community or to the would be candidates as my Foundation will take of the bills. On this note, I thank you Mr. President General and the whole Abavo Kingdom for your sustainable friendship over the years. God bless you all”

Other awardees took their turn in receiving their awards, among whom were Hon Victor Nwaokolo, member representing the Ika Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representative, Abuja. He was represented by Hon Emeka Asiwe, the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Delta State on Youths.High point of the event was the presentations of award to the awardees.

Dr. Donald Peterson is a blessing to our generation – NAIS

The National Association of Ika Students (NAIS) Nationwide has said that they are impressed with the developmental strides of one of their patrons, Dr. Donald Peterson.This was emphasized by the National President of the Ika students apex group, Comr. Ebegboni Christian Chuks, while speaking with newsmen during the week in Agbor.

Comr. Ebegboni who described the philanthropist as a unique and visionary leader, pointed out that he (Dr. Peterson) has been a blessing to the students as majority of them were beneficiaries of his education scholarship, adding that Peterson has also done well changing the face of the society through his noble foundation, D-Peterson Foundation, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

He said, “Dr. Donald Peterson is a blessing to our generation. Many youths and students in Ika land has been testifying of his kind gestures including my very self, particularly for his concern for the development of this land.“Over a hundred of student have been placed on scholership with a vision of adding value to education, and hopefuly in 10 years to come, Ika land will be filled with great men and women.

We are impressed with his good works, thereby using this privilege to commend him while encouraging him not to relent as God will crown his effort with His blessings,” the President added.

Ika South NUT honours 76 retirees with awards, cash

…as Dr. Peterson gifts outstanding teachers

Not less than 76 retired teachers in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State have been honoured.The successful retirees were presented with an award plaque and cash for serving meritoriously for 35 years.This was marked in a colourful ceremony sponsored by a private organization, D-Peterson Foundation, on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Agbor, to appreciate outstanding teachers in various categories such as Best Principal, Best Secondary School Teachers, Best Head Teachers and Best Primary School Teachers, respectively.

Emerging winners of the categories were as follows;BEST PRINCIPALS CATERGORY: First, Mr. Memeh Chuks Monday, Dein Palace Secondary School, Agbor. First position, cash prize of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (#120,000). Second. Mrs. Jibuno F.C., Alindinma Secondary, Agbor Alindinma. Second position with cash prize of One Hundred Thousand Naira (#100,000).Third.Mrs. Ogbuagu-Asemota E.G., of Ogbemudien Model Secondary School, Agbor. Third position, cash prize of Seventy Thousand Naira (#70,000).

BEST SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS CATEGORY: First, Mrs. Adagonyin M.O., Ime-Obi Secondary School, Agbor. First position, cash prize of Ninety Thousand Naira (#90,000). Second, Mr. John Waruaha –Waru, Abavo Secondary School, Abavo. Second position, cash prize of Seventy Thousand Naira (#70,000).Third.Mr. Okenye Dickson, Jegbefume Secondary School, Abavo. Third position, cash prize of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000)

BEST PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS CATEGORY: First, Comrade Alika Ekele Jude, Alifekede Primary School, Alifekede. First position, cash prize of Ninety Thousand Naira (#90,000). Second. Mrs. Eghomie Tessy, Odili Primary School, Agbor. Second position, cash prize of Seventy Thousand Naira (#70,000). Third. Comrade Mrs. Ewubor Bose, Nosiere Primary School, Agbor. Third prize, cash prize of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000).In a welcome address presented by the Chief Inspector of Education, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Ika South chapter, Mr. A. O. Eze, he described the ceremony as a dream come as Dr. Peterson offered to celebrate all Ika South teachers both in Public and private schools.He also thanked the various groups such as NUT, ASUSS, ANCOPSS and AOPSHON for cooperating with the committee in selecting the awardees and further explained the criteria with which the winners were selected, and in the same vein commended the committee for the job well done.He used the medium to encourage teachers who could not emerges as awardees to strive for excellence next year.

In a related development, the Zonal Director, Post Primary Education Board, Agbor, Mrs. Frederick, P.C. (ESQ), in her speech,described the epoch making event as a new beginning for those in the academic circle.

She said “this award ceremony been sponsored by D-Peterson Foundation is the first of its kind in Ika South. This shows that teacher’s reward is no longer in heaven alone but now on earth and I eulogize Dr. Donald Peterson for conceiving this idea and taking up proactive steps to actualize same”

Hon Andrew Agwaze, Chief of Staff, D-Peterson Foundation and currently, Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Delta State on Youth matters who led members of the Foundation (Hon Smart Jegbefume, Ewere Okonta, Hon Ignatius Agboile and Hilary Nmoyem) to the ceremony, in his speech; he promised the teachers that the event will be an annual ceremony and that next year event will be more colourful and more embracing to accommodate more awardees.

“D- Peterson Foundation will partner with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to organize computer training programme for the teachers, by 2021.

“We will also train 1000 students virtually on Python Programming language software,” he added.

He concluded by saying, “the main motive behind the sponsorship is just to thank and appreciate the teachers in Ika South for being the incubators of human learning.”Highlights of the ceremony were the presentations of award to the awardees.

Iyogo Youths Forum launches 20million rental service project, honours prominent Ogbeisogban indigenes

An apex youth group, Iyogo Youths Forum, has launched her twenty million naira (#20million) rental service project. The forum also honoured prominent indigenes of Ogbeisogban Community who have in different ways contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of the community.

The launching and award ceremony took place at Ogbeisogban Community Hall, Ogbeisogban,on Sunday, December 27,2020. The Chairman of the day was Rotn. Peter Idion, Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor,on Political Matters. The Chief host was the member representing Ika South Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, popularly known as, Chuky Dandy, while the Chief Launcher was the President/Founder, D’Peterson Foundation, Dr Donald Peterson.

Ogbeisogban indigenes who were honoured at the ceremony are: Chief Dr Charles Nenyiaba, the Onyefe Dein of Agbor, Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh(Chuky Dandy), Mr Endurance Eluma, Mr Andy Ekpenisi, Mr Chukwuma Aliagwu, JP, Mr Emmanuel Emefiele (Emma Testo), late Edomoyi Okonkwo Thomas, Innocent Imafidon and Joe Onwubuya.According to the forum, the awardees were honoured for their various contributions towards the growth and development of Ogbeisogban Community.

In his remark, Rotn Peter Idion commended Iyoko Youths for coming up with such a laudable initiative, noting that building a viable source of income is important for any youth group. He advised that the effort should be sustained for the benefit of the members and Ogbeisogban Community. He thanked all persons who were present to support members of the forum, urging them not to relent. He also pledged his support for the forum.

On his part, the Chief Launcher, Dr Donald Peterson expressed joy over the rental service project by Iyogo Youths, stating that he is proud of them. He pledged total support for the project which he described as laudable. He thanked the Ogbeisogban Community for creating the enabling environment for youths in the community to thrive. He assured the community of his continued support.Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh,in his speech congratulated the youths and promised to help actualize their dream of building a business where they can contribute meaningfully to their lives.

Speaking also, Chief Gideon Okobia, the Ajeh of Ogbeisogban Community, said that he is proud of his youths. While advising them to remain committed, focused and eschew violence, he prayed that they will succeed in their plans to better their lives and Ogbeisogban Community.Earlier in an address presented by the General Secretary of Iyogo Youths Forum, Comrade Ibude Frank, he said, “the recipients of the Iyogo Youths Forum awards have contributed immensely to the growth and development of Ogbeisogban Community. The essence of the awards was to thank them for the good work they are doing for our community. He disclosed that other persons who are also contributing meaningfully to Ogbeisogban Community will be honoured in future.

He stated that one of the cardinal aims of the forum is to enhance the cultural, educational, economic and social well being of our people. In order to be effective in carrying out these set of objectives, the forum went into rental service so as to generate fund, hence, the call for this twenty million naira project which will afford a virile rental service that will include, tent, cooling van, pick up van as well as canopies and chairs.

While appreciating all present at the ceremony for their supports, he expressed gratitude to the Patron, President and members of Iyogo Youths Forum for their commitment and sacrifices since the formation of the forum.
