An apex Non- Governmental and Non-Profitable Organization, Marian Onaro Foundation on Friday, December 18, 2020, reached out to vulnerable widows and less privileged in Ika nation.

The foundation in its kind gesture donated bags of rice, bags of salt, cartons of tinned tomatoes, cartons of Maggi seasoning to the widows at Melekwe street, opposite Leeds Hotel, Ika North East, Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking with Ika Mirror reporter, the Coordinator of the Foundation, Mrs Joy Nneri stated that it is a day of celebration.

According to her, “This foundation is called Marian Onaro Foundation. The founder is Mrs Blessing Egede. She established it in memory of her late mother, so as to touch lives of widows and the less privileged ones in the society. So, we started this foundation in the month of April with twenty two widows being empowered to do something for themselves.Today, she asked me to call the widows to come around to get some food stuff that they will use during this festive period.

The foundation will go global in reaching out to people in the world. I’m seeing us going to places to touch lives of many in the world.My advice to the women is that they should always give to people around them, because there is love in sharing. They should not look at themselves as not having anything,as they can always give from the little they have and they should be prayerful.

She lauded the efforts of Mrs Blessing Egede and her kind gestures towards the well being of the widows and less privileged, saying that the women will go home smiling and as such Christmas is settled for them. She prayed God to bless her and family, as well as replenish her pockets in all she does.
