Speaking on the message he titled, “How Do You Start The New Year? When God Said You Should Put Him First”, the Guest Speaker, Prophet Joseph Igbodo, the General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, Agbor, took his Bible reading from the books of Hebrews 13:9-10, Psalms 68:11-22 and Second Chronicles 17:6.

Continuing, he stated that food is the enemy of man, hence the need for one to be fully involved in fasting and prayers, starting from the first day of the year. He encouraged the ministers and conference delegates to imbibe the habit of commencing the new year with fasting and prayers from the first day of January every year, emphasizing that if they want to become Ministers of God that carries the anointing and fire of God for signs and wonders, they should continuously dwell in fasting and prayers. He noted that because some men of God do not take right counsel, that is why the rate of poverty is so pronounced in their lives and Ministry. He urged them to change their wrong doctrines which are not profitable.
Speaking further, the Elect of God, who is also the Proprietor of Job Orphanage Home and the Proprietor of St. Stephen Trust Widows Home, both in Agbor, noted that when they as Ministers are fully involved in the task of evangelism, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ continually, then will the anointing of God rest upon them. He charged them to work hard in preaching the gospel so that the rain from heaven will come upon them and people from all walks of life will begin to honour them. He reminded the ministers that God choose and ordained them to bear fruits revealing that prosperity is one of the benefits of preaching the word of God, stressing that open heaven is not meant for lazy Pastors, he noted that what makes people to be convinced about the presence of God in the Ministry is Miracles. He Prayed God to forgive them their mistakes and bring them back to salvation.
