Ezinne (Mrs) Cecilia Chiyere Ogbonyeri Celebrates 65th birthday

Senior Special Assistant to the executive governor of Delta State, on Women Mobilization, Ezinne Mrs Cecilia Chiyere Ogbonyeri clocked 65 years on Tuesday, July 27. The activities marking the birthday started on Sunday, July 25 with a thanksgiving service at All Saints Anglican Church, Agbor-Nta.The thanksgiving service was attended by family members and friends.

The main birthday party took place on Tuesday, July 27 at the residence of the governor’s aide at Agbor-Nta. It was attended by the Vice-Chairman, Ika South Local Government, Hon(Mrs) Patience Agboma, Councillors, Ika South Local Government Councill Legislative Arm, Imasua Amino, Marcus Ugbaja, PDP Ward Chairmen in Ika South, among others.

It was indeed a great day to remember as the children and friends of the celebrant joyfully felicitated and danced with her. They wished her many happy returns and more glorious years ahead.

Speaking in an interview, Ezinne Mrs Cecilia Chiyere Ogbonyeri expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for keeping her alive and healthy to celebrate her 65th birthday. She disclosed that God has been very good to her and members of her family, hence, she will remain eternally grateful to Him.

She thanked her husband and children for their love and support, stating that she is very proud of them.

She also expressed her warm appreciation to the executive governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, member representing Ika North East Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Tony Elekeokwuri, member representing Ika Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Victor Nwokolo, Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Ika South, Jude Onya, Dr Donald Peterson, and all persons who contributed in different ways in making the birthday party a huge success.

She said life begins at 65 as she will continue to glorify God for his blessings, grace and mercy.

She rounded up by specially thanking Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding her worthy to serve in his government. She promised to continue to support and pray for Governor Okowa’s success in office.

Monday Akpolo celebrates daughter’s first birthday amidst funfair

It was a special day for the family of Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Security Matters and stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Monday Emenim Akpolo, as they rolled out drums to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday.

The colourful ceremony was held at Akpolo’s Ime-Obi residence in Agbor on Sunday, January 10, 2021, was well attended by family members, friends and well wishers who also took to the dancing floor to express their delights.

Remarkably, Akpolo was joined in the ceremony by his security team, Agbor Gha-Ihun, led by their Chairman, Comr. Monday Kiyem.Speaking with newsmen, Akpolo expressed gratitude to God for the gift of their adorable daughter, Baby Rhema Monday Akpolo.He said Baby Rhema is a special gift from God to rekindle his joy while assuring that she would be properly raised.He thanked guests at the ceremony for their show of love towards him and his family, praying the Almighty God to bless their homes with good health and prosperity.

Mrs. Ogor Obuh celebrates Mom @ 80

It was all pageantry and celebration galore on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Philip Anglican Church, along Okobi Street, Boji-Boji, Owa, as Mrs Ogor Obuh gave her mother, Dame Mrs. Esther Nwagbogwu who clocked eighty years, a massive and colourful birthday party.

The august occasion attracted the presence of high dignitaries, amongst who were, the first Lady of Delta State, Dame Mrs. Edith Okowa, the member representing Ika South at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Okoh, Vicar of St. Peter Anglican Church, Ven. P. O Okoh, family members, friends, PDP faithfuls, well wishers and host of others.Dame Mrs. Esther Obiajulu Nwagbogwu was born on the 15th of December, 1940. Her parents were Mr. Paul Onyema and Mrs. Sarah Nwabiani Echenim of Owa-Nta in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. She was a post humous child, that is, her father died while she was in her mother’s womb. Late Ven. Charles Alika Echenim adopted her while she was still in the womb. At the age of six, Late Echenim took her to Oba in Anambra State, where he was serving as a Cathechist. She was moving with him to different places, where he served as a priest. She started teaching after her Primary six.

After teaching for some years, she went to teacher Training College for her Grade 111. After her training, she taught for two years at All Saint Primary School, Asaba. She later obtained her Grade 11 Teachers Certificate at St. Mary’s Teachers Training College, Owo. She taught on Anwai, Asaba and later transferred to St. John Primary School, Agbor, now Orogodo Primary School, Agbor. During her teaching there, Her Excellency, Dame Mrs. Edith Okowa was one of her pupils.

To further her education, she went for a Head master Course (HIB) under Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State. On her return, she was promoted to special Headmaster Grade1 and posted to Alihagu Primary School and later Thomas Primary School, where she retired meritoriously after 35 years of service in 1991.

She is a dedicated Christian and Leader. Because of her dedication and her service in the church, she was always been giving leadership position by different clergymen and their wives posted to the church. Due to this, she was given the title, Ochiligwe and Nne Ejiokwu (Mother of Truth) by the wife of late Ven. Obianaba of St. Paul Church, Owa-NtaShe has a calm deposition and a woman of peace. She is a role model to a lot of women within and outside the church.

She is blessed with adorable children, Mrs Ogor Obuh, Mr. Onyeka Nwagbogwu, grand children and great grand children.While preaching during the Thanksgiving Service at St. Peter Anglican Church, Ven. Okoh stated that when one honours God, God will equally honour him.

It is important that we should show gratitude to God for the gift of life and that is why Mama has come to return all glories to God. People don’t want to be separated apart any more to show appreciation for their maker. Ingratitude is a spirit of the last day. When you have come to appreciate God, your life will start moving forward. Showing appreciation to God means that you value Him.

Giving God thanks is for our own good, because in there lies our blessings. It is good to thank God at all times, so that God can prosper the works of our hands”, he said.
