Ihu-Iyase vigilante hosts ISSN

… discusses way forward for effective community policing

A coalition of local security groups in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta under the auspices of Ika South Security Network (ISSN) on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 met to discuss way forward for the group.The meeting was hosted by the Ihu-Iyase vigilante group led by Mr. Francis Ofuoyebuozo, who in his remark welcomed all to the strategic meeting.

The meeting recorded the first appearance of the Ika South Vigilante Chairman, Comr. Amechi Emenim.Also in attendance was the Chairman of Agbor Gha-Ihun, Comr. Monday, who advised that members should intensify effort in crime bursting.He also disclosed that his group was making plans to extend her patrol van donation to the sister security group in Ekuku-Agbor among others having done same gesture to Ihu-Iyase and Oza-Nogogo vigilante groups.Comr. Amechi Emenim, in his address enumerated government plans for the vigilantes and in the same vein congratulated privileged members enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force for capacity building.He advised the new police recruit not to see them selves as superior to others, nothing that they are all equal to effectively police their communities against crime.

I may not have been coming to meetings does not mean I was not part of you. But now, I am here and would always be present at meetings. However, I will enjoin all to share prompt informations that will help us to do our job more effectively. Once again, I thank you for your courage and commitment to the security work,” Emenim added.
