Agbor stands still as Okowa,Ibori,Uduaghan,others attend Ebie funeral

The ancient town of Agbor, headquarters of Ika South local government,Delta State stood still today,as Nigerians from different parts of the country joined the famous Ebie family of Agbor-Alidinma to bid their late patriarch and elder statesman,Sir Samuel Parma Ogoefuna Fortune Ebie farewell to eternity.The funeral programme which started on Wednesday this week with a service of songs at St John Anglican Church,Agbor was rounded up today, with the interment of the remains of the immediate past Onu Ika leader at his compound at Agbor Alidinma, after a church funeral service in his honour.
The executive governor of Delta State,Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa was present both at the church service and reception which was held at the open field of Ogbemudein Model Secondary School,Agbor.Also present to bid farewell to the late pan Ika leader and estate dinosaur were:former governors of Delta State, Chief James Ibori,Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan,current Head,Collective Leadership of Onu Ika Nigeria, Mr Daniel Usifoh,the Obi of Owa Kingdom and Chairman,Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11,Prince Adams Gbenoba, General Ephraim Usiade,members of Agbor Community led by Mr Lucky Mgbeken, Sir Tony Obuh,Elder John Ehikwe, Barr Eugene Uzum, Mrs Ifeoma Agboma,Chief Mrs Margaret Amechi,Chief Ofulue,members of Agbor Alidinma Community,Onu Ika members,Knights of St Christopher,Anglican Church members,commissioners,top government functionaries,Chief Dr Emmanuel Tibi,Jude Onya,Hilary Ibegbulem, Hon Ralph Azeh, Sunny Ogwu,Barr Victor Ebonka,Hon Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, Peter Idion,Hon Fred Ofume, Chief Godwin Ogadi,Chief Sunny Animele,Dele Akpatashi,Williams Eghebi,Dr Philip Okwuada,Hon Cordilia Anyangwu,Chief Augustine Aghaulor,youth leaders, professional associations, among others.
Sir Fortune Ebie was before his transition to eternal glory a revered community leader in Ika land.He was the immediate Head,Collective, Leadership of Onu Ika,Nigeria. He was the pioneer Managing Director, Federal Housing Authority and the architect of modern FESTAC town in Lagos.He was also the pioneer Managing Director, Shelter Afrique,Kenya. He excelled greatly in his profession,hence, he was called by many as an “estate guru or dinosaur”.He was educated both in Nigeria and England.He was an alumnus of the famous Okirika Grammar School, Okirika,in present Rivers State and College of Estate Management, University of London,a patriotic Nigerian, loving and caring. Since his demise on June 4 this year at the age of 82 years hundreds of tributes on his life well lived on earth have continued to pour.Sir Ebie’s contributions towards the growth and development of Ika land is legendary,his good works will remain indelible not only in the anals of Ika history but the country at large.
