I Am In PDP, Not Any Other Political Party -Tony Obuh
A former governorship aspirant in Delta State,Sir Tony Obuh, has debunked rumours making rounds in some quarters that he has left the Party,declaring that he remains a bonafide and loyal member of the ruling party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The retired permanent secretary, Government House, stated this yesterday at his home town,Oki,Agbor, during an enlarged meeting with PDP members from the three quarters in the community.In his words, “I am in PDP, I have not neither have I contemplated defecting to any other political party. What you hear to the contrary is the handiwork of political detractors who are uncomfortable with my positive attitude to life and politics.
” I am overwhelmed with the turn out of our people in this meeting.Oki is a PDP Community,let us continue to work for the growth of our party with the interest of Oki at heart. Let me make it clear that I have not either privately or publicly expressed any political ambition except to remain a diligent member of this community.Let us remain united, so,that we can always achieve our goals politically.”
Speaking further, Sir Obuh called on the people of Ika South to participate actively in the ongoing INEC registration exercise to enable them vote for their choice candidates in future elections.
Meanwhile, the PDP members in Oki have passed a vote of confidence on Sir Tony Obuh, saying that he remains their political leader in the community.The community also passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP. Chairman in Ika South, Hon Collins Bello.
Chief Philip Onyekpe, Hon Patience Onyesom(Last K)and Engr Lawrence Onahor,in their remarks applauded Obuh’s sterling leadership style,assuring that they will continue to support him for the overall development of Oki and progress of the PDP.
